Lodging a claim, by contrast, involves notifying us of any third-party demands for compensation or non-monetary or injunctive relief made against the insured, typically triggered by the receipt of a legal writ, statement of claim, or similar formal notice.

Yes, though you must notify us of such engagement as soon as reasonably practicable and seek our prior consent before incurring any applicable fees or charges.

This condition does not apply if you choose to use our preferred crisis response partner, as the policy provides a 72-hour grace period during which no prior consent or excess is required.

You do not have to notify your insurance broker before calling the cyber crisis response hotline, as we will reach out and inform your insurance broker of the matter during this process. However, you may still wish to inform your insurance broker after notifying us for your own records.
